Certification ZDHC
Arzignano, Italy – Samia SpA, which has always supported a responsible use of chemistry, has reached an important goal in terms of sustainability by obtaining certification at Level 3 of compliance with the ZDHC.
The new certification demonstrates the company’s commitment to the management of sustainable chemicals, driving innovations and improving more and more leather production practices for garment, footwear, leather goods and furniture in order to protect consumers, workers and the environment.
The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals foundation (ZDHC) is a program that outlines activities by providing a clear path for a safer production, focusing on the principles of transparency and management of chemicals according to an integrated prevention and precaution approach.
In order to achieve this goal, ZDHC has published its MRSL Conformance Guidance version 2.0, a management system designed to determine whether a chemical formulation complies with the requirements of the ZDHC MRSL.
The acronym MRSL refers to a list of chemicals whose intentional use is prohibited in the production of textile articles, in natural and synthetic leather.
